Teacher's Day

The school celebrated Teacher's Day with a concert in the school hall whereby both the students and the teachers had lots of fun. There was some lessons after the concert and the school ended early as the teachers gathered for a Teacher's Day dinner.

It was truly a great day and thank you for all the little gifts and cards that I have received. This Teacher's Day is especially meaningful as it is my first time celebrating it. :) Thank you!!

All the gifts I've received :)

Here's a poem by Sasha and Ling Hwee. I thought it might be appropriate here.

Think of
Education
Are you
Crying?
Heck
Education
Rules!

Nice poem! : )

Gifted Education Screening Test

Most of the students were back in school today for the gifted education screening test. They had to sit for two papers, namely the English and the Mathematics paper. The questions seem very tough and challenging.

Let's hear from the students as to what they have to say.

National Day Celebrations 2005

National Day Celebrations 2005

The whole school gathered at the Parade Square early in the morning on 8th August to celebrate National Day. There was the usual singing of the National Anthem and the reciting of the pledge. What was special was a short recollection. It helped us to understand the significance of National Day.

The students enjoying the songs in class

The students from returned to class after the assembly and engaged in the National Day art activity. Following which, there was a short sing-a-long of the theme song. The class participated fully with their actions and with gusto. Don't they look adorable?

Fabric of WSPS 2005

WSPS had their own fabric of the nation. The class which participated in the artwork submitted their artwork and was put on a huge red cloth in the canteen. The completed product was simply amazing. It will be on display for a week! Well done White Sands!

The "Nationalites"

August Birthday Babies

It's once again time to celebrate some birthdays. The class celebrated the birthday of (from left to right) Kelvin, Clayton, Qi Soon and Alicia. They share the same birthday as Singapore. That's right. We celebrate National Day this month. The class must be looking forward to this celebration. They have been practicing hard for the National Day song! Can anyone make a guess what are "Nationalites"? : )

August is here...

Learning the National Day song and actions

During assembly, the school had to learn the National Day song and the actions that accompanied it. The students all enjoyed themselves very much. Let's look forward to the National Day celebrations in school next Monday.

East Zone Learning Festival

The primary 3 teachers had to go to the East Zone Learning Festival. Many teachers found the talks and exhibitions very useful and informative. WSPS also had a booth there. The Science department has done a great job. Three cheers for them!

Meanwhile, 3A had a teacher from the morning session taking over the class for the day. I wonder how it went. Can anyone care to say something?
